Do you figure there’s enough good stuff in the GM guide to be worth grabbing 2e even if you’re not running Cairn? I remember hearing there would be some cool stuff on establishing a setting or filling out a wilderness

It kind of depends on what you already have. For me personally - no. Cairn 2e hasn’t found any rotation into my usual refereeing procedures, but I also have decades of fine tuning what I like and I don’t need another book.
This might be different for someone who doesn’t have such procedures, or is generally drawn to Cairn’s aesthetics and way of handling things.
The warden’s guide has some great ideas in it for creating dungeons and wilderness which was definitely worth it for me. But also, everything is free online and it’s printed at cost. So go check it out for yourself and you’ll know for sure!

I’d like to print a bunch of either 1e or Barebones Editions just to hand out at cons. Pretty expensive to send them to where I live.
