Code of Conduct
We are a community dedicated to playing and discussing tabletop adventure games of all sorts, as well as other related media. We seek to be a welcoming community open to folks of all backgrounds and experience levels, and to be a place to make connections to others who are just as passionate about their hobbies as you are.
This community is built by all of its members, including you. Start topics and share the things that interest you, bookmark discussions you find interesting, engage with other earnestly, and help us grow into a vibrant, fun, and empathetic place. Make sure to also flag things that do not fit our values or seem out-of-place, and then promptly ignore them.
This is a public forum, just as you can read and engage with other members here, so can others as well as outsiders. A strength of forums is the fact that they can be indexed and searchable, so keep that in mind when posting, and make sure to keep discussions relatively public friendly.
We have a few rules as follows:
Treat everyone with dignity and respect.
The person on the other side of the computer is a human, just like you, with their own preferences, experiences, and concerns. Assume good faith, and ask for clarifications in discussion when needed. Friendly banter is fun, but if someone is obviously bothered by what you are saying, examine your words and intent. Be kind.
This is our most important rule, and the one that all the others flow out of.
No discriminatory comments, hate speech, or slurs.
Any term that has historically been used to harass, demean, or dehumanize a group of people based on some arbitrary common denominator is a slur. If you have a creative project that may touch on these topics, reach out to moderation for clarification.
Do not platform or support known bad actors.
It is an unfortunate fact that any hobby will have its fair share of individuals who promote hateful and destructive ideals, and tabletop gaming has many. This is more a facet of oral history and the working knowledge of our culture, as we do not want to promote a list of such individuals to be debated or have them vindicated in some sense. You will not be punished for unknowingly supporting these figures, but if moderation reach out with clarification, please listen.
No pornography, tag NSFW or "shock" material with spoilers.
Some gaming art and media contains violent content, gore, nudity and other such content. This is fine to share and discuss, but be sure to use the spoiler tags around this content to blur it out.
Don't spam.
Keep discussions tidy and on-topic. If you wish to branch off from a discussion, make a new topic rather than interjecting. Do not cross-post topics into more than one category.
Respect moderation.
The rules are not a comprehensive list of every allowed and disallowed action, and of course none are absolutely concrete - everything requires interpretation, and there are a lot of grey areas when it comes to moderating and enforcing these rules. If you feel you are a good candidate for taking on the responsibilities of moderating, please contact our staff.
Decisions by moderators will be upheld. Should you feel mistreated by a moderator, reach out to the rest of the staff rather than arguing with the moderator in question.
